Interactive Identity Erasure 001 is the first in a series combining 35mm negatives and Processing 3. The image in this piece is a scanned negative of the flowers in front of the artist's home which has been within her family for multiple generations. The viewer is able to click on the image and fill it up with squares of bright orange until the original image can no longer be seen- thus erasing and changing a part of the artist's identity. This video is a demonstration of a viewer interacting with the piece.
This interactive animation was created by coding in Processing 3. The work is an exploration of the different applications of coding within art, and a study on one of the many uses of interactive technology in art. The video is a screen recording of a viewer interacting and manipulating the animation.
